Why Does God Not Give Us Miracles to Help Us Believe?

If God is so powerful, why does he "hide" from us? Why doew he not give us daily miracle to help us believe.
God is definitely powerful enough to be able to perform regular miracles in modern day. Question is why is he not doing that? Regular miracles would take away a lot of debate over whether God exists. We can think of some very good venues for the miracle that would bring maximum exposure. For example during half time at Super Bowl, we can have a half time miracle show. Maybe on New Year's eve we can have a miracle at Time Square ball drop. The event is watched world wide, and would make for excellent network rating. Scientist can stand by with sophisticated instruments to validate it. Afterward, talking heads will comment on whether is real or an illusion. Perhaps God can take on a more serious tone like at the Mecca, Vatican or Jerusalem. We can set a time and place of an annual miracle of epic proportions. All these suggestions are tongue in cheek absurd of course, but it does illustrate a point. What is it we really want, and more importantly, something that we do not think about, what do we think is God’s perspective.

Laws of physics has to be created
To try to answer the question why there is no miracles, we should look at the question from God‘s perspective. God created this physical world we live in. God created the laws of physics. He can change the laws of physics anytime. Miracle by definition means God is changing the laws of physics. In Joshua 10:12-14 the sun and moon stood still. That means the rotation of the earth stopped. Physically, that is impossible. Like a merry go round, if you stop it suddenly, everyone would fall down. God would have to rewrite the laws of physics at that moment in time to make the earth stop rotating and yet the people could not feel the deceleration.

Spiritual realm controls the world
How can God change science? Answer is God is he is in the spiritual realm. The spiritual world is way more powerful than this physical world. The physical world is God’s project. We just live in his project governed by scientific laws God wrote for us.
Should God come visit us in his project and change the laws of physics for a demonstration of his existence on a regular basis so we can believe him?
To answer that, the following is an imagination of what would I do if I were God? It is just an imagination, but this anecdote puts the situation in a perspective that we can grasp. We won’t know how God thinks until the end. This roleplay along with bible verses gives us some ideas.

How would I think if I were God:
If I were God, I would not feel the need to prove myself to these "earthlings" that I created. They should be worshiping me already. My creation is there to prove to these earthlings that I am powerful. People should acknowledge me already with what they see in the night sky. My glory and power has been shown enough by my creation already. And oh by the way, these earthlings stinks to high heavens with their sins. I already gave them Jesus for salvation. I am not going to do a circus act for them on a regular basis. Even if I do, they are going to treat it as entertainment anyway.
Here are a few Bible verse to back up the above imagination. Romans 1:20 said since creation, God’s attributes, power and divine nature is clearly seen thru things created. Psalms 19:1 said the heavens declare the glory of God. Of course, we hear scientist and doubters say all the time the stars are not a prove for God. Romans 1:20 say on the contrary. Not much explanation is needed. God's existent is self evident. The heavens shows glory of God. Romans criticize the doubters in two ways. One is they already know there is God. God made the universe in such a way that it is all too obvious. Second is they purposely suppress the truth and pretend there is no God because they are wicked. These are pretty harsh criticism. The take away from this is we already know there is God. When we say there is no proof, we really are actively suppressing the truth. We may not think we are doing that, but we are.
We hear the phrase “scientific fact”. Facts has never changed anybody’s mind. All you have to do is look at advertisement. Even for an expensive car that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, advertisers never give out facts. More ironic is even for drugs that affect people’s health, there are no facts. Advertisement doesn’t give out the raw statistical facts about the clinical trial in the ad. They don't talk about the trial sample size, confidence interval, standard deviation, significance level, statistical protocol etc... People will fall asleep if they did that. We also know in a jury trial, the better the lawyers the better the chance the criminal has to get off. Even in an environment where jurors are specifically instructed to decide based solely on facts, people do not do that. So with something as important as heaven and hell, people definitely do not base their decision on facts if ever! If you listen to people carefully, their decision on existence of God is based on pride mixed with anger. Even the questions they ask: “Why does loving God send people to Hell?” is a statement of anger, and not a sincere fact finding mission to understand God. That is a statement disguised as a question. Is like when your partner ask “If you love me, why did you cheat?”. That is never a “question” ever. Imagine how clueless a person could be to think that is an honest discourse. It is a statement of blame spoken in anger. If you hear a “question” like that from your spouse, is time to get a divorce lawyer!

Seeing physical miracles do not result in spiritual faith
John 6:30 the Jews asked Jesus to do a miracle so they would believe. This is the day after Jesus did the miracle to feed the 5,000 people. A miracle do not lead people to believe. More miracle for the Jews was just a freak show. They only want to be entertained. God give us enough miracles to show Jesus is the way. In another verse Matthew 12:38, the scribes and Pharisees asked Jesus for a sign. Jesus said non will be given except Jonah the prophet who was in the stomach of the fish for 3 days just as Jesus will be in the heart of the earth for 3 nights. In another word, the death and resurrection of Jesus is all the signs we will need. God do not need to give us periodic miracles for us to believe.

How can we believe
Hebrews 11:6 says we need faith to please God. Faith is the one word that doubters love to ridicule for good reasons. What is it about faith that makes it important? Hebrews 11:1 “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The “things not seen” is the spiritual world. Faith makes a bridge between the physical world, which is corrupted by sin, and the spiritual world. We are physical, and will in this life always be in this physical realm trapped by sin. We cannot reach God in this physical realm. Faith is a spiritual thing that can reach God who is in the spiritual world. God is in the spiritual world. Hebrews 11:1 “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” The creator is invisible. He in the spiritual space. Only by faith can we understand the spiritual world.

Faith vs Blind Faith
What is the difference between faith in God versus faith in Santa Claus or Mickey Mouse. Faith in Jesus is supernatural, it can only be given by God. John 6:44 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him” and John 6:65 “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father”. We sinners cannot make ourselves believe and come to Jesus. God grants us access to Him thru Jesus. Faith itself comes from God just like love also comes from God. 1 Corinthians 13:13 “But now faith, hope, love, abide these three, but the greatest of these is love.” Having faith, hope and love is a gift from God.

Faith is a gift from God
If faith is a gift from God, then we do not need repetitive miracles to prove God is real. God gives us the faith, and the faith that He gives us is powerful enough to trust in Jesus. Those who are not of God will never be able to have the faith. Of course, doubters make fun of the faith. But ask yourself this question, who is really laughing at them? Those who disdain the things of God are not getting any close to God. Those who ask or try to answer the anger driven question of "How can a loving God do THIS" are not getting any closer to God to have faith either. Ask and you will receive.
