Magic Bible Verse - Stops Sin in its Track

Ending Sin

Sin will continue to have dominion over you until the day you say from here on to eternity, I will not do this particular sin anymore. Even if I sacrafice my pleasure to the point of death, I will not do this sin anymore. You make that commitment to God with the understanding there is no turning back. The miracle is that once you are firm on that commitment, Holy Spirit takes over. You will be tempted a little more as if it is a test. After that, the temptation just melts away. You will not even miss the sin. It is as if you were never interested in that sin in the first place. Truly, sin has no dominion over you. Every now and then, that sin knocks at your door, but is much weaker. That is unless you are foolish enough to dwell on it.

When that sin temptation is gone, you will look back, and see how dirty that sin was. You will also realize sin is a type of demonic possession that the devil use to oppress you. When you come clean, you will look back and see how the demonic spirits have been operating in you.

Did I Sin?

Before we fight sin, we have to first ask ourselves is it a sin?
If we confess our sin, He is faithful to forgive us. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us. 1John1:9.
Some sins are obvious like murder. The sins you get stuck in are the ones you are convinced is not a sin. We convince ourselves what we do is not really a sin. Bible warned us about trying to convince ourselves is not a sin. This is where Satan will fight you tooth and nail to convince you what you are doing is not a sin. Quitting a sin is a big sacrifice, so we will often times ask many times whether our action is a sin hoping the answer is no. Rule of thumb: If you ever have a doubt it might be a sin, then it is a sin. The Holy Spirit is a quiet still voice. Is very easy to drown out the Holy Spirit.
Sin covers a lot of ground.

Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, division, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and thisgs like these. Gal 5:19

Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind. 1 Cor 6:9 KJV

If the above two verse does not cover your sin, then you know you are lying to God. Fits of anger gets almost everyone while driving. That is a sin. Even sensuality is a sin. We know porn is a sin, but outside of porn, there are a lot of non sexual acts. Some takes a liking to certain parts of the body that may not even be sexual. That is a sensual sin. There are others who play with food, mud or wetness. Those are sensual sin. Each person is different. Satan has put a sensual desire in you that fits your character. Don't think of it. Anything even remotely sensual is a sin. This is where you will desperately try to justify to yourself it is harmless. Commit yourself to say for Christ, I will give it all up. You won't know is a sin right now, but when you come out the other side, you will know. I can assure you it is a sin.

Whoever looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt5:27

For guys, this is the most common sin. If you look at a girl and think she is pretty, you have sinned. You only look at a women's character. Woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. So you are allowed to judge whether a woman fears the Lord. That is all you can do. Soon as you think in your mind how pretty she is, you have sinned. You need to ask forgiveness. Our culture encourage this kind of sin. As a Christian, you will stay pure. For sure the blessing of staying pure far surpass satisfaction of the flesh. You will not go back to looking at a woman when you see the purity of Christ.

Yes, I Sinned. Now What?

The battle ground for sin is in the mind. Eve saw that the fruit was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise. The lust came from the mind. Once the thought matured, she acted on it. Jesus said if you are angry with someone, you will already be judged as if you committed murder. Therefore, even before the physical act, if our thoughts dwells on sin, we will already be judged.
Satan constantly plants thoughts in our head day and night. Once a thought takes hold, the next thing is we will do the sin. Humans are imaginative beings. Satan knows how to give us imaginations. His attack is two prong. He gives us a desirable imagination. He also presents the alternative as unbearable boredom and tedium. The end result is predictable. We latch onto the desirable imagination.

We must move our defense further forward. If you try to defend against the actual act of sin, you already lost. Satan’s imagination already took hold in your mind. You are now on a losing ground to keep yourself from the physical sin feeling oppressed the whole time. When you do sin, you do so in a spectacular fashion. Satan tempted Christ. The first thing Jesus did was use the word of God to defend himself. That is incredibly powerful. What worked for Jesus will also work for us.

We probably have not memorized a whole lot of Bible verse like Jesus did. If there is just one Bible verse, that will be enough to get us thru. We need that magical Bible verse that works in every battle. Here is the full verse, but just memorized the last line.
(2 Corinthians 10:3–6 KJV) “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”

Bible is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Eph 6:17. Word of God is sharper than any two edged sword. It cuts to the bone and marrow. Heb 4:12. In spiritual warfare, the word itself must carry a spiritual force that Satan is deathly afraid of. God must be so powerful that just reading what he said is enough to cause Satan to retreat. Once you realize how powerful a few words are, use them often. Use them as preventive war when you know temptation is coming.
As soon as a thought come up in your head, immediately reach for these word. The earlier you do it, the better off you are. The difference is literally a few seconds. Once sinful desire takes hold, your will is weakened, and you won’t reach for the words anymore.
Soon as you have a sinful desire, say these words three times:

I bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
I bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
I bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

You will feel Satan leave. Sinful thoughts will melt away. Is like Harry Potter’s magic casting a spell. Wave the wand, say the spell three times and poof, Satan leaves. (I am just trying to describe a spiritual truth. That was really not an edifying movie.).
Note in the verse, it said casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God. The Bible verse works for sinful imaginations as well as thoughts that attacks your faith. When people say there is no God, and here is the reason why. They may say it just as you go thru a difficult time in life. That thought can attack your faith, and shake it to the core. Immediately say the verse three times. The evil spirit is trying to exalt itself against the knowledge of God. Say the verse, and just look at your hand. Move your fingers. You see the glory of God right there. Enough said.

What do you replace your thoughts with? Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence, and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Phil 4:8
